Josh Staab is the digital content supervisor for KTUU Channel 2 News. He joined the station in 2013.
Originally from Sacramento, California, Josh jumped wholeheartedly at the opportunity to fulfill one of his oldest pursuits: to explore and study Alaska in its wild, wonderful and weird ways. He graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a journalism degree.
Josh landed his first writing job just after graduating from high school with the Sacramento-based magazine Heckler Magazine where he made the decision to pursue journalism as a career. Through that fateful experience, Josh learned to shoot and edit his own video, develop digital strategies for content delivery and hone his passions for writing, photography and research.
In his time with Channel 2, Josh has worked in every shift for the Digital Department. He has covered the Iditarod and Iron Dog race trails, written stories from the edges of avalanches in Valdez to the historic shores of the Yukon River in Eagle. Josh also spends a great deal of time at his desk in the station covering breaking news and developing new digital strategies for KTUU.com.
Josh maintains a number of journalistic interests, notably in public policy and environmental sciences, interests he makes time to pursue in his personal life as well. Josh is an avid outdoorsman and snowboarder, exploring the many mysteries Mother Nature has to offer. When he isn’t outside, you can find him in the kitchen cooking, watching a movie or reading a good book.
