A 14-year-old Georgia boy was arrested after refusing to get out of bed for school.

The boy's mother told police in Athens her son had been tardy more than 30 times this school year because of his reluctance to get out of bed, the Athens Banner-Herald reported.

Earlier this week, she threw water on him after he refused to get up and the boy got violent.

Police said he punched a window and shattered a mirror, vase and several other items.

The boy was arrested, and an official with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice told officers to charge him as an unruly child and with criminal damage to property, the Banner-Herald reported.
