APD Says Man Wanted for North Slope Burglary In Custody
The Anchorage Police Department says a 20-year-old man wanted for a North Slope Borough burglary is now in custody.
APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro says in a Friday statement that Forrest French, wanted on a felony warrant, was picked up in Palmer Thursday.
"French was arrested by Palmer police last night," Castro wrote. "He has been booked at Mat-Su Pretrial (Facility)."
North Slope Borough Police Chief Leon Boyea said French's burglary was in Prudhoe Bay on Dec. 13. He faces three charges of burglary and a single charge for theft. “To my knowledge no weapon was used in the burglary and there is no reason to believe he is armed,” Boyea said.
In a release by APD Thursday afternoon, police had said they believed French was in the Anchorage area.
