ANCHORAGE -

Police say a hit-and-run driver was involved in a West Anchorage collision late Friday night that sent one person to the hospital.

APD dispatchers say police received initial information about a vehicle which may have left the scene of the crash, at Minnesota Drive’s intersection with Northern Lights Boulevard. The wreck was first called in at about 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Several police cruisers were still at the scene as of shortly before midnight Friday, with two cars apparently having collided in the intersection. People were still sitting in the cars while officers examined the crash site.

Officers at the scene confirm that medics took one person in the crash to a local hospital. A third vehicle left the scene of the crash, but police located it in the parking lot of the Papa Murphy's pizza store at 1231 W. Northern Lights Blvd., a few block east of Northern Lights and Minnesota.
