Alaska State Troopers have identified a Wasilla woman found dead with a man at a local home in a possible murder-suicide Sunday morning.

According to an AST dispatch late Sunday, Palmer troopers were informed of a possible death at the residence, in the Meadow Lakes area, just before 9 a.m. Sunday. Responding troopers found the bodies of 41-year-old Anthony Torres, as well as that of 32-year-old Natasha Clark.

“Investigation revealed both parties suffered apparent gunshot wounds to the head,” troopers wrote. “A pistol was found at the scene next to Torres.”

In an email to Channel 2, AST spokesperson Megan Peters says troopers haven’t fully determined what happened, but do know that Torres and Clark “were known to each other and had a relationship.” She says confirmation that they were shot is pending from autopsies.

Peters wouldn’t comment by phone on whether troopers were seeking a suspect in the case, citing its preliminary nature.

“It appears that there's no other person involved, but we're still investigating,” Peters said.

Peters says troopers received a call from a concerned relative of one of the victims, who visited the residence off of Sylvan Road.

“A family member went to the cabin and after becoming suspicious that something was wrong, they requested troopers to come do a welfare check,” Peters wrote. “The vehicles of the victims were at the property but no one appeared to be there.”

Troopers rapidly responded to the call, arriving at the property shortly after 9 a.m. Peters says the handgun mentioned in the initial AST dispatch wasn’t the only weapon present.

“There were multiple guns inside the cabin,” Peters wrote.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation’s Palmer Major Crimes Investigation Unit, as well as a crime lab technician, responded to the scene Sunday to begin the investigation.
