A Ketchikan woman charged with stabbing a man with a fillet knife has been ordered held on $10,000 bail.
The Ketchikan Daily News reports 28-year-old Emberly D. Michael is charged with domestic assault and evidence tampering.
Ketchikan police on Sunday took a call that a man had been stabbed and needed medical attention.
Witnesses told police Michael hit the man repeatedly in the head before he stepped out of a room with the knife wound.
Police say Michael told them she acted in self-defense and that she grabbed the knife only after she had been slapped.
She told police the man was stabbed when he lunged at her.
She acknowledged to police that she had broken the blade into three pieces. Police recovered the knife handle.
