ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

A three-vehicle East Anchorage crash which trapped people in their cars Tuesday left a man with head injuries and part of Boniface Parkway temporarily closed, according to local police.

APD spokesperson Anita Shell says police received reports of the crash, near Boniface’s intersection with DeBarr Road, just after noon Tuesday.

The extent of injuries to the man wasn’t immediately clear at the time of the crash.

“They thought he was dead, but he was knocked unconscious,” Shell said.

Shell says Boniface’s northbound lanes were closed from 24th Avenue to Northern Lights Boulevard. APD's Twitter feed also reported a southbound closure on Boniface at DeBarr, with southbound lanes reopened as of 12:45 p.m. Tuesday and northbound lanes reopening at about 1:40 p.m.
