Spenard Stabing
ANCHORAGE -

Police responded shortly before 8:30 p.m. Monday to a stabbing off Dorbrandt Street, not far from the intersection of 36th Avenue and Spenard Road.

Police say a man was stabbed in the ribs in what appears to be a domestic violence dispute involving five people.

"Basically there was a verbal altercation between parties that lived on one side of the street, with parties that lived at that residence, and across the street, which did develop into a domestic violence situation," APD Sgt. Jason Allen said at the scene said.

"A couple of gentlemen confronted the suspect in that case, and one of those gentleman was stabbed by the suspect."

The victim was transported for his injuries, which are not life threatening, according to APD dispatchers.

Police have the stabbing suspect in custody, but on Monday night, his name had not been released, nor a list of charges.
