ANCHORAGE -

Alaska State Troopers are investigating a shooting at a home south of Fairbanks that left a man injured with multiple gunshot wounds.

Troopers say a 25-year-old man early Sunday morning reported that two men had entered his home uninvited at Lakeview Terrace trailer park and assaulted him.

He says he shot at the men and that he was acquainted with them.

Troopers say a 32-year-old man shortly afterward showed up at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds.

Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says the man who fired the gun was awake when the other men entered and was the only other person at the home.

She tells the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that officers are attempting to verify what happened.
