Minor Earthquake Shakes Southcentral Alaska

A minor earthquake near Hatcher Pass rocked Southcentral Alaska Tuesday night, with no immediate reports of damage.

According to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center, the 6:13 p.m. quake, 22 miles north of Hatcher Pass, had a preliminary magnitude of 4.56.

Channel 2 Facebook users had sporadic reports of feeling the quake in Anchorage, with

“Felt a lil shake in Jewel Lake,” wrote Renee Harp.

“Was rocking in my recliner, our chandelier was swinging and my pots and pans were rumbling against the wall in the kitchen,” wrote Marianke Phillips.
