ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

A three-car vehicle crash has left one driver in critical condition as of Friday and alcohol is suspected to be a factor, according the Anchorage Police Department.

Shortly before 9:26 p.m. Thursday, police say a driver in a 2000 Chevy Tahoe allegedly failed to stop at a red light heading northbound on Lake Otis Parkway approaching the intersection of Dowling Road.

The Tahoe driver collided with a 2004 Ford F-150 truck that was heading eastbound on Dowling making a left turn northbound onto Lake Otis Pkwy. The Tahoe driver also struck a 2002 Chevy Suburban that was stopped east of the intersection.

“The driver of the Chevy Tahoe was ejected from the vehicle and transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries,” said Jennifer Castro, APD spokesperson. “Police do believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.”

Police say there have been no arrests or charges with the case, “at this point,” and the crash remains under investigation.
