Texas Roadhouse Begins Hiring for February 2014 Opening
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

A national steakhouse chain set to establish an East Anchorage outpost next year has begun to hire an estimated 150 people ahead of its February opening.

According to a Wednesday statement, the Texas Roadhouse in the Tikahtnu Commons shopping area, at 1200 N. Muldoon Rd., is set to open for dinner hours from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, with lunch and dinner hours Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Sunday hours will be set at 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Louisville, Ky.-based Texas Roadhouse boasts 400 locations throughout the Lower 48, including more than 55 in Texas, its largest state market. The restaurant chain describes itself as a dinner-only eatery on weekdays with brief lunch openings on weekends, which allows its locations to occupy cheaper land away from high-traffic business districts.

The restaurant’s hiring office will open beginning Jan. 2 outside the Tikahtnu Commons location, with hours Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Editor's note: Texas Roadhouse has clarified the opening date for its hiring office at the Anchorage location, as well as the restaurant's Friday and Saturday hours, from versions included in an initial press release.
