ANCHORAGE -

Alaska State Troopers have identified a Mentasta man who was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Copper Center Thursday afternoon.

According to a Thursday AST dispatch, 32-year-old Charles David III was at the wheel of a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo sedan headed north on the Old Richardson which rolled after leaving the highway. David was ejected from the car, and pronounced dead at the scene after troopers responded at about 1 p.m.

“Road conditions at the scene were dry and clear,” troopers wrote. “Evidence indicated that a seatbelt was not used. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.”

David’s body will undergo an autopsy at the state medical examiner’s office in Anchorage.
