ANCHORAGE -

Alaska State Troopers are investigating after a California man was found dead in his Anchorage Jail cell on Friday afternoon.

Troopers responded to the Anchorage Correctional Center around 1:48 p.m. Friday to a report of the "unexpected death" of 20-year-old inmate Davon Mosley.

Mosley was found "alone and unresponsive" by correctional officers. Life-saving efforts failed to revive him and he was pronounced dead on the scene.

No information was available as to the cause of death until the State Medical Examiner's Office completes an autopsy, but Troopers said no foul play was suspected.

Troopers say Mosley was formerly of California. His family has been notified of his death.
