ANCHORAGE -

Two Venetie men have been indicted on more than a dozen domestic-violence assault and burglary charges in the stabbing of a male relative who was attacked as he slept earlier this month.

According to a Wednesday AST dispatch, 56-year-old Earle W. Erick Sr. and 19-year-old Chance I. Erick were indicted by a Fairbanks grand jury on two counts each of first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and fourth-degree assault. Chance Erick faces an additional count of third-degree assault in the March 16 incident.

Troopers responded to Venetie on the evening of Mar. 17, arresting the Ericks in the man’s stabbing. While he was related to both suspects, troopers say the three apparently had disagreements over several dogs.

The victim was treated and released at a Fairbanks hospital, while the Ericks both remain in custody at the Fairbanks Correctional Center.
