FAIRBANKS, Alaska -

A 53-year-old Fairbanks woman has been charged with sinking her ex-boyfriend's pickup in the Chena River.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports Karen Wulf was charged Sunday with felony vehicle theft, felony criminal mischief and driving under the influence.

Wulf remained jailed Tuesday. The Fairbanks public defender office did not immediately return a phone call.

The pickup was found early Sunday off Graehl Landing. Water filled the cab to the back window.

Police say Wulf acknowledged seeing her ex-boyfriend with another woman at a bar and found his truck outside.

She told police she knew where he hid the ignition key outside the truck and that she drove it into the river.

Police say her breath alcohol content measured more than three times over the legal driving limit.
