The Alaska Aces defeated the Utah Grizzlies 3-1 Wednesday at the Sullivan Arena.
Aces were first to strike early in the 1st off an even-strength score from Nick Mazzolini. Alaska was up 1-0 to end the period, out-shooting Utah 15-8.
Grizzlies would equalize less than a minute into the 2nd, but a broken play on the blue line timed perfectly with Ross Ring-Jarvi exiting the penalty box would set up Tommy Mele for the go-ahead goal.
Alaska's Mathew Sisca tallied the insurance goal in the 3rd to round out the 3-1 final.
The two teams are back on the ice Friday, December 20th at 7pm.
