Rob Gunderson made 13 saves, and the UAA Seawolves received goals from Brett Cameron, Matt Bailey, and Scott Allen to down Alabama Huntsville, 3-1 in Friday night's WCHA home opener.
The victory improves UAA's conference record to 1-2-0 and 4-3-0 overall. The Chargers drop to 0-5-0 in their first season as WCHA members.
Cameron's power play goal at 10:29 of the first period marked the only scoring of the game's first 40 minutes. Bailey extended the lead to 2-0 with his fifth goal of the year at 4:43 of the third. After the Chargers pulled to within a goal, Allen put the game away on a power play strike with 1:28 remaining in regulation.
UAA outshot Alabama Huntsville, 33-14 for the night.
