The Harvard Crimson used a big first half to claim the 36th Great Alaska Shootout championship game over TCU, 71-50 on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena. Harvard is the first school from the Ivy League to win the title in the tournament's history.
Laurent Rivard drilled five three pointers to lead Harvard with 15 points, while Jonah Travis and Evan Cummins combined for 21 points off the bench. Harvard shot 54 percent in the first half to lead 48-25 at the break.
Guard Wesley Saunders was voted Shootout MVP even though he was limited to four points in the finals. Saunders dished out 9 assists and pulled down 8 rebounds.
Kyan Anderson led TCU with 20 points but the Horned Frogs shot only 25 percent for the game in defeat.
