UAF hockey defeated UAA 7-2 in game 3 of the 4 game series for the Governor's Cup Friday night at the Carlson Center.
Three first period goals set the tone for the Nanook victory. At 1:09 into the game, Tyler Morley put the blue and gold on the board, and tallied another at 18:40. 13 seconds after Morley's second, Cody Kunyk extended the Nanook lead to 3-0.
Kunyk would tally 3 more for a grand total of 4 on the night. Seawolf scores from Brad Duwe and Brett Cameron, plus a Nanook goal from Trevor Campbell would round out the 7-2 final.
The two teams are back on the ice Saturday, March 8th in Fairbanks. UAF leads UAA 2-1 in the series, if UAA claims game 4, the Governor's Cup will be decided by a shoot-out.
