Seawolves Complete WCHA Sweep
The UAA hockey team completed a weekend series sweep of Alabama Huntsville in its WCHA home opener with a 6-1 victory at Sullivan Arena on Saturday. The Seawolves' 5th win of the season gives UAA more victories than all of last season. UAA stands 5-3-0 overall, 2-2-0 in league play.
The Seawolves enjoyed tremendous success on the power play, scoring five goals on the man advantage, including three on the same five minute major late in the contest. Matt Bailey and Scott Allen scored for the second straight night, Allen added two assists, and Kory Roy registered the first goal of his collegiate career. Freshman Hudson Friesen, Austin Coldwell, and Brett Cameron also struck for the Seawolves.
Rob Gunderson collected the win in net, saving 18 of the Chargers' 19 shots. UAA outshot Alabama Huntsville 28-19 for the contest, including a 13-3 margin in the third period.
