Matt Bailey scored twice, but it wasn't enough as the UAA hockey team fell for the first time this season in a 6-2 defeat to Western Michigan in the Alaska Goal Rush at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.  The Seawolves drop to 2-1-0 under new head coach Matt Thomas.

Bailey's first goal of the contest tied the score at 1 with 56 seconds left before first intermission.  However, UAA gave up a soul crushing goal with only .4 seconds left in the first when Sheldon Dries scored past Rob Gunderson.

The Broncos then scored twice in a 50 second span early in the second period to end Gunderson's night.  Shane Berschbach led Western Michigan with two goals and one assist.  The Seawolves outshot the Broncos, 26-25.

UAA wraps up play in the Alaska Goal Rush on Saturday with a game against 12th-ranked Denver.
