ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

The Alaska Aces scored four goals in the first period to pull away from the Las Vegas Wranglers on Wednesday night, 5-2 at Sullivan Arena.  Alaska improves to 22-9-3  and drops Las Vegas to 10-22-3.

Peter Sivak scored twice, his 11th and 12th goals of the season, to lead the onslaught.  Sivak's first goal of the night capped a tremendous first period for Alaska.

David Eddy opened the scoring with wide angle shot 8:40 into regulation.  James Martin added his second of the season a little over six minutes later.  Skating shorthanded, Ross Ring-Jarvi buried a breakaway chance at 17:19 of the first.  Sivak put a bow on the period with a strike 35 seconds before intermission.

Olivier Roy made 20 saves to win in net for the ninth time in his last 10 starts.  The Aces and Wranglers continue their three-game series on Friday.
