ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

It's doubtful the UAA hockey team will forget its first WCHA meeting with Lake Superior State.  Facing each other for the first time in 22 seasons, the Lakers stung the Seawolves for three consecutive goals in the second period to knock off UAA, 3-1 on Friday night.

UAA drops to 7-8-2 overall and 4-7-2 in conference play while the 17th-ranked Lakers break a tie for 6th place with UAA, improving to 10-6-1 overall and 6-5-0 in league play.

Following a scoreless first period, Blake Tatchell gave UAA a 1-0 lead on a power play goal at 7:33 of the second.  The lead did not last even two minutes.

Mitchell Nardi, Kevin Czuczman, and Ian Miller all scored Lakers goals by period's end.  The final strike by Miller came off a ghastly giveaway by Seawolf defenseman Chris Williams in his own end.

The two teams wrap up the first half of the season on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena.
