UAA Reopens Search For Hockey Coach
ANCHORAGE -

The UAA Seawolves beat the NMU Wildcats Saturday night 4-2 earning a weekend split and 2 WCHA points.

After Friday nights 3-1 loss coach Matt Thomas didn't feel his team was very sharp but he was also quick to say "we haven't had to many games in a row where we've been off."  Coach Thomas was backed up by the play of his guys in game two against NMU.  Scott Allen (12:00) and Kory Roy (13:43) each scored goals in the first period as UAA jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the opening 20 minutes of play.

In the second period Dominik Shine cut the Seawolf lead in half with a power play tally at the 12:29 mark.  In the third it appeared that the Seawolves were pulling away, Kory Roy scored his second goal of the evening, a rocket of a shot at 8:28 to give UAA a 3-1 advantage but that advantage was short lived, Reed Seckel made it a 3-2 contest at 9:52.  Again UAA was able to find breathing room, Jordan Kwas scored the final goal of the game at 11:24 to make it 4-2.

The Seawolves remain in 4th place in the WCHA, the team will get a week off before their next series, a pair of games at Lake Superior State February 7th and February 8th.
