The UAA volleyball team saw its season come to an end Thursday against 4th-ranked BYU-Hawaii, 25-19, 25-19, 25-17 in the opening round of the NCAA Division II tournament. The Seawolves finish the year 21-10 overall, advancing to the postseason for the fourth time under head coach Chris Green.
Against the Seasiders, All-Region outside hitter Katelynn Zanders floored 8 kills, while Brooke Pottle added 7, but UAA was unable to finish off games.
BYU-Hawaii scored seven straight points to take control of the first frame, and then rattled off eight of the last 10 points in the second to pull away.
UAA Seniors Siobhan Johansen and Jodi Huddleston played their final matches as Seawolves. Johansen delivered 16 assists and Huddleston bowed out with two kills on four attempts.
