ANCHORAGE, Alaska -

The West Eagles defeated the Service Cougars 28-16 to claim the large schools state championship title.

On Saturday afternoon, West's defense held the Cougars to a single offensive touchdown the entire game.

The Eagles were first on the board when Lui Fa'amasino ran in the 1 yard touchdown at 8:22 in the 1st.

A Service safety followed by a pick 6 from Chance Wetherington gave Service a 9-7 lead heading into halftime.

West would finally take control in the 4th when Fa'amasino ran in his second score, followed by a 37 yard rushing TD from Leroy Elliot.

This is West's second ever state football title.  The first game in 2010 when they beat the Cougars 6-0.
